Tahini, tahina or tahina (also known as sesame paste or sesame paste) is a thick paste made from ground sesame seeds common in the Middle East, added to many dishes, such as falafel, hummus, and is also used in many sauces.
Tahini contains ground sesame seeds (100%).
Takhini mass is used to make many oriental sweets, including one of the most famous – halva.
The three components of halva are – protein mass (paste from oil seeds or nuts), caramel mass (sugar, molasses) or honey, and a foaming agent.
Other components are sometimes added to halva, which plays the role of flavours, dyes and flavouring additives: vanilla or vanillin, cocoa powder, chocolate, pistachios. In our case, this is cocoa powder.
Tahini (sesame) halva is expected in the Balkans, the Middle East, other parts of the Mediterranean region, and the former USSR. The protein mass for this halva is made from ground sesame seeds.
